Below you will find some general information about our application processes.
Please note, not all of these applications will be available. Please check here for our currently accepted applications.

Fall - Freshmen

Housing application materials were included in your admit packet from the Admissions office. Return the enrollment confirmation form along with your $300 housing deposit in the return envelope provided. You must submit the deposit in the envelope together with the Enrollment Confirmation form.

A housing view book is enclosed in your admit packet
The George Mason University housing application is available online.

Assignments are made based on the date your application for campus housing is completed, not on the date your deposit is processed. The earlier you complete your housing application online the more likely you are to get your preferred choices.

Fall - Returning Campus Students

The Room Assignment Process or RAP is the process by which current on-campus Mason resident students apply for and select a residence hall room for the next academic year. All current Mason resident students who would like to live on campus for the 2006-2007 academic year must participate in RAP.

More information about the RAP process can be found here

Fall - General Waitlist

On-campus housing at Mason is reserved exclusively for degree-seeking students who are enrolled in classes full-time. In recent years demand for on-campus housing has been in record numbers. We cannot guarantee on-campus housing.

This application is for George Mason University students who wish to be considered for on-campus housing for the academic year (the coming or current fall and following spring semesters). You will be required to pay a $300.00 deposit if and when we offer you a space on campus. Instructions will be provided at that time about possible payment options for this deposit. Complete your online application early! Housing requests are honored in order of the date your online application is completed.

Spring - General Waitlist

This application is for any new student, off-campus student or upper-class Mason student who wishes to be considered for on-campus housing (for the coming or current spring semester) and is not already in housing. You will be required to pay a $300.00 deposit if and when we offer you a space on campus. Instructions will be provided at that time about possible payment options for this deposit.

If you have less than 29 credit hours
In general, freshmen are assigned together in the Presidents Park and University Commons (DUCC) Housing Areas. Students with 29 credit hours or less will be processed with Freshmen applicants. Complete your online application early! Housing requests are honored in order of the date your online application is completed.

If you have more than 29 credit hours or will turn 21 this year
Students who are 21 years of age or older or who will turn 21 during the course of the academic year, or have more than 29 credit hours are assigned to the upperclass housing areas: DUCC, TAP, YRC. Complete your online application early! Housing requests are honored in order of the date your online application is completed.
